Monique Gill is a filmmaker, educator, and the Founder and Executive Director of Moknowsbest Inc., an Atlanta-based nonprofit she built from the ground up to help young people develop emotional literacy through documentary filmmaking. After building her career on major film and television productions, Monique transformed her industry experience into a mission: equipping the next generation to tell stories that matter. She is the creator of The Bluest Space Youth Film Intensive, a documentary filmmaking program that places professional filmmaking tools in the hands of youth ages 10-15 and guides them through the process of turning lived experiences into powerful documentary films. What began as a $4,070 community fundraiser has grown into multiple Metro Atlanta cohorts, five original youth-produced documentaries, and public screenings that bring families and communities together to celebrate young storytellers. Program outcomes include 100% of participants reporting increased confidence in expressing themselves through storytelling and greater pride in their completed films. Today, Monique leads Moknowsbest's continued growth across Metro Atlanta through youth programming, creative services, and community partnerships while guiding the strategic expansion of The Bluest Space across the African continent. Through every initiative, she remains committed to one belief: every young person has a story worth telling, and the power to change lives when they're given the tools to tell it.
